He was going to simultaneously defend\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/paycoin.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Paycoin<\/a>, an imploding <a class=\"inform_link\" title=\"Title: Bitcoins\" href=\"http:\/\/www.csmonitor.com\/csmlists\/topic\/Bitcoins\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow\">bitcoin<\/a>-like currency he launched in December from a horde of angry investors and detractors, and celebrate it with his legion of true believers.<\/p>\n<p>On January 15, the day before the three-day conference,\u00a0organizers announced Garza\u2019s appearance had been canceled. Garza said it was a misunderstanding \u2013 it was only that the talk&#8217;s original time and place was cancelled while the bitcoin conference looked for a more appropriate venue.
